Montenegro - Central region
Even that Montenegro central region does not imponds with such an large number of hotels as it does the south coastal area, this area represents the heart of Montenegro history and the early beginings of Montenegro state making. In this area the most famous battles where made, the most heroic resistens to the conquerors where held and here started Montenegro as we know today. Every centimeter of this area represents an history written by blood of it's people for their home land and dreaming a dream they are leaving today.
Cetinje represents the cradle of Montenegro as a state and Montenegrins as a nation, it was Royal capital city of Montenegro and the city where the destiny of Montenegro was tailored, the decisions, battles and marshutes, all started from Cetinje. Times when the lead was collected from lead pencills from schools in Montenegro in order to use for wheapons is something what new generations can not forget and will remeber allways how hard it was for their ancestors to safe Montenegro and give them an free and independent state.
Cetinje was ex Montenegrin royal capital city of Montenegro, nowdays the capital city of Montenegro and it's largest one is Podgorica.
Podgorica is Montenegro's administrative and economical center. It is settled in the middle of Zeta and Bjelopavlici, in the banks of river Moraca and Skadar Lake. Podgorica has around 1/3 of population of Montenegro and it numbers above 200.000 citizens. For a state which has something above 650.000 citizens it represents an huge metropole. All the main ambasies are located in Montenegro capital and chains of hotels brands such as Best Western, Hilton and others found Podgorica very intersting place and opened it's hotels in Montenegro capital.
Second largest city of Montenegro is also settled in this area, and it is the city of Niksic. This city is settled on east region of Montenegro near the border with Bosnia and Hercegovina. City of Niksic is an city of heavy industry where the fabric of iron is located. During it's best days this company was one of the biggest exporters of iron in region, but after the transition period it didnt adapt itself best and especially after Montenegro proclaimed itself as an ecological state, the future of this iron fabric is in big question.
