Petrovac

 

Small and very charming town with an old fortress Kastel, beautiful beaches, nice people, great promenade, magnificent nature.

Petrovac is under the legislation of Municipality of Budva and it is located 18 km southern from Budva, between Bar and Budva. The now day area of Petrovac was mentioned in earlier times of Romans and is supposed to thing that this area may used from the Romans as the rest place on their way up and down the Adriatic sea coast.


Two mosaics in Mirište settlement which are found date from that time. Petrovac as a city as it is now was built at the end of 18th and at the beginning of the 19th century. Petrovac has an small island called Kadič in front of it where by the legend there was built a church from the sailor after his ship sank he saved himself on that island. In thanksgiving he built a church called Nedjelja.

The area of 600 m long sandy beach of Petrovac and the area in front of it and around in island of Kadič represents a real challenge for all the divers. The other beach which is 200 m long in south position from Petrovac is the beach called Lučica and looks like a small bay.
